Are you a parent who cannot get any work done while your children are at home 'schooling'? What is a parent to do when the schools are not open for you to be productive? The solution is to give your children the space they need to work in a quiet, socially distanced atmosphere with supervision, allow for safe social interaction and the much needed physical activity of dance, tumbling and yoga! Read below for more information. We recommend that you get on the list as soon as possible, even if you don't have your schedules yet.
*Children must be enrolled in Kindergarten to participate in the program.
Start Time Subject to change based on general school start times.
Each day, children will be exposed to dance lessons in one of the following genres, on half day Wednesdays they will have multiple classes:
Classes are geared toward the younger beginner. Older students are welcome to take class with modified instructions for intermediate work or help by assisting younger classes. Equivalent ratios of beginner and intermediate students will result in separate classes for each.
We will provide a supportive environment for independent learning. Your child will be responsible for following their own schedule. Homework and classwork will be followed up based on your guidance. Please supply ear buds or headphones, and any personal device.
The first priority is homework and education. Each day, students will learn time management skills when budgeting their time between classes and homework.
The GPS staff is an energetic group of adults who care for your child's physical well-being, education and emotional security. They take safety seriously and commit to slowing the spread through good hygiene and wearing masks. Staff members are not teachers. The will help your student with their distance learning when needed but will not be responsible for teaching them.
Each student must have their own transportation to and from GPS. Carpools and alternate drivers welcome.
If you're looking for a carpool, please contact the studio with you information. We will do our best to help each other navigate through this difficult time. Need someone else to pick-up? No problem! Give us their name in an email or pick up note.
As of right now, there is no plan for performances. However, we will be holding regular classes which perform in our holiday show and end of year recital later in the evening.
Please pack a healthy snack and lunch for your child.
A hungry mind is a confused mind. Be sure to pack a nutritious snack to keep your child super sharp while they work on their homework and gather energy for dance classes. Please make sure they have their own well marked water bottle and NO NUTS!!
